Different nitrogen-vacancy color centers possess different properties – absorption and emission spectra, fluorescence lifetimes, and spins – and are consequently suited for different applications. By embedding color centers into photonic nanostructures, it is possible to tweak their fluorescence properties even further.
Read about the experiments made by a German research group, led by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Elke Neu-Ruffing. The group used a SuperK supercontinuum laser and a SuperK VARIA tunable filter in their experimental setup.
