Over the years, our customers have installed our Koheras fiber lasers in the harshest environments – on oil-rigs, submarines, wind turbines, and some even went into space.
The Koheras lasers are all-fiber distributed feedback (DFB) lasers with a compact and robust design that enables inherent single-frequency laser operation. They are extremely stable, have low-noise performance, and scalability in manufacturing.
Telcordia GR-468-CORE – tested and proved!
We have exposed 15 representative samples of our most popular Koheras single-frequency fiber laser, the MIKRO E15, to a number of qualification tests. And we are delighted to learn that the official test results certify our customers’ trust in our lasers.
The tests were carried out according to the Telcordia GR-468-CORE standard for optoelectronic systems. FORCE Technology, an accredited third-party certification institute, performed the tests.
We submitted the lasers to the following tests:
- High-temperature operation, powered
- Temperature cycling
- Damp heat, powered
- Vibration
- Mechanical shock
The test results showed that the optical performance of our lasers remained essentially unchanged and well within the tolerances – and confirmed the robustness and reliability of our Koheras fiber lasers.
Below, is an example from the test report, showing the steady spectrum during temperature cycling.
Install and forget
We have manufactured Koheras single-frequency fiber lasers since 1998. Since then, we have shipped more than 20,000 lasers to customers who wanted a narrow linewidth, high-frequency stability, and low-noise laser operation.
We have developed the Koheras MIKRO using field-proven Telcordia-qualified optical components, originally designed for the telecommunication industry, to get maintenance-free 24/7 operation and a long lifetime in demanding environments.
Pick a Koheras fiber laser if uptime is critical, e.g., in sensing systems for critical infrastructure. With documented low failure rates, we proudly deliver the most reliable low-noise lasers on the market.
